From Campaign to Campaign

Telling Stories that Matter...

Powerful imagery – in fact most communication – has the greatest impact when the story it tells is both seen and felt. Recently, I was invited to run as a political candidate. Being in front of the camera instead of behind it was refreshing to say the least - and led to running a campaign the same way we run creative projects, with care, intention, and a focus on clarity. Whether shaping a brand or a ballot, good communication builds connection & emotion. Campaigns are a community effort. Navigating the demands of the race while running a small business, I leaned on my studio team and long-standing creative collaborators: Mike Fein on the other side of the camera, James Grady on logos and design, writer Toni Lansbury on branded messaging, and a small but mighty campaign team on all the rest.It was a privilege to run for the Town of Brookline Select Board. While I didn’t get the seat, the town-wide support and the campaign have been energizing and deeply rewarding; full of expansive conversations, connections, insight and perspective. At the core, our work as visual communicators is about shaping stories. Whether through a campaign, camera, or conversation, we decide how stories are told, and which ones get heard. As individuals, small businesses, or larger organizations, we’re part of a vital community ecosystem. Our voices matter. And compelling stories make a difference.
