Public Art
Photographing the opening of the Boston Public Art Triennial was an incredible opportunity to celebrate the individuals and institutions that bring art into urban experience – and to party with friends and colleagues like it’s 2025… and AE Events throws a mean, magical party ✨. The exhibit features works by 20 commissioned artists, installed across our neighborhoods, adding Boston to the contemporary art world map. Shaped by Kate Gilbert’s vision of a ‘not-to-be-missed, festival-type experience,’ the Triennial invites the public to experience art in open, accessible space – no tickets, no walls, no intimidation. Public art serves to disrupt the everyday, offering a sense of discovery, inspiration and shared culture. And, as the name indicates, this urban transformation will take place every three years. The opening party was made possible with support from a range of community partners (including yours truly). Artfully designed in a raw commercial space, and featuring an interactive light installation by Masary Studios, the Triennial kicked off overlooking the city it inhabits.
